When a skiing accident left Lucy unable to move, painting nature brought her back to life.

She started with the pretty garden flowers, and then moved on to capturing beauty in all the weeds and ‘taboo’ plants that are often overlooked—even discarded.

Today, her work appears in Vogue, on The White Company packaging, and in leading art exhibitions around the world.

It was a pleasure writing this lovely lady’s story for Make a Place. We met Lucy at her summer house studio, and it instantly felt that we were in a sacred space, cocooning ideas and paintings the outside world may never have the privilege of experiencing.
